Extraordinary living in the leafy countryside of Vorden
Driving on the Lindeseweg, just south of the center of Vorden, we find this beautifully situated charming farmhouse with outbuildings.
We are in the green heart of the Achterhoek where ancient forests and meadows organically run into each other. And despite the fact that we do not see slopes full of grapevines we still get a bit of that La Douce France feeling. Something with Burgundy, charm and French atmosphere.
Always an instant vacation feeling in your own home. Who would not want that?
That's the experience we feel here. And we haven't even mentioned the wine cellar.
Farmhouse Groot Jimmink has a long history. We therefore dive back in time. As early as the early 14th century, the first inhabitants discovered this exceptional place.
The current hall farmhouse dates from 1789, as we can see on the wall anchors. Since then, of course, the farm has been repeatedly renovated, rebuilt and modernized. Tastefully, while retaining original features. This is reflected among other things in the prominent old trusses with pin-hole connection. Thus, the authentic charm and romance have always been preserved.
The entire living program is on the first floor. This makes the farmhouse life-proof and at the same time suitable for many purposes. The rural indoor-outdoor experience is always present.
Cherry on the cake: the spacious annexe with complete furnishings always has a nice guesthouse at your disposal. This space can also be used as a studio, workspace, practice or for family care. Or are you finally going to follow your dream and let people enjoy your instant vacation feeling by starting your own B&B?
We enter through a stately door. We find an impressive dining room with high ceilings and an authentic fireplace. The fireplace has beautiful hand-formed whites and a robust stove. In this beautiful room you can dream away with a good book by the stove, but it can also easily accommodate a large dining table, where there is enough room for everyone. Dining and coziness go hand in hand here.
We open a door on the right and enter a spacious and cozy bedroom with several closets and a bathroom en-suite. The bathroom offers space for a double sink, shower, bathtub and toilet. It gives you that luxurious hotel feeling that you can get out of bed and go to the shower. Nice and comfortable right? Immediately after this we go again to the right and we have access to a second bathroom. This is equipped with toilet, shower and sink.
The dining room is connected with two doors to the incredibly spacious and cozy living room. The nostalgic truss construction can be seen here in all its glory, which gives that fine farmhouse feeling. Because the living room is situated across the full width and is equipped with a magnificent light through the large toga window and the various windows that are present, you can really splurge on creating many cozy corners. Here you can play, laugh, read, work and watch television. A wonderful place to stay!
We also find here in a central place a round fireplace where you can warm up on a cold day. Around the current seating area is underfloor heating.
In the living room we find the door to the spacious kitchen on the right. The kitchen offers plenty of cupboard space, has a double sink and space for a separate dishwasher. Cooking, roasting and baking are not done on gas, but with a built-in electric hob and oven. Fresh groceries are kept crisp and fresh by a freestanding fridge freezer. There is enough space for a fine dining table. Through the door in the kitchen diner, one of the outdoor terraces can easily be reached.
If we go to the left in the living room, we see a door that takes us to a cosy outdoor area with a roof. Fine when there is a short shower, ideal for hot days and actually always just right for that ultimate indoor-outdoor feeling.
Last but not least, we see from the living room another beautiful eye-catcher. We reach this particularly nice space with a wooden staircase. Five steps further we are in higher spheres and we see a space where you can dream or reflect. A nice place to retreat to, but still keep the connection with the living room. At the moment it is furnished as a small library with a compact home office.
Going down a few steps through the living room, we enter the treasure trove of this great property: the wine cellar. Here, your collection of cozies in red, white, rosé and bubbly is safe. You keep them here in an ideal condition until you decide to open one to toast the good life.
Adjacent to the dining room we find on the left two bedrooms, one of which gives access to the complete and multifunctional outbuilding.
What a space and possibilities this ideal extension of the house! We take you through it, so you get inspiration how you want to give practical meaning to this extra living space.
The hall, which has two doors, is the central traffic area where the bathroom, utility room and living room are located. This bathroom is also equipped with sink, toilet and shower. So morning stress at the bathroom door is with a total of three bathrooms in this farmhouse forever past. We walk through to the utility room which is equipped with a kitchenette, washing machine connection and a water heater. The living room is very bright because of the classic large windows with rod division. Adjacent we find the first bedroom and we go from the hall upstairs we find a spacious second bedroom. We also find on the landing a wardrobe. Handy right?
In the yard we see a large outbuilding with double doors plus a storage room. This building was originally used as a stable barn. With its spacious layout and renovated roof, this outbuilding offers many possibilities for use, for example as a horse stable, hobby room or as a garage.
Nature makes you happy and there is no lack of it here. The lovely green living garden really has everything to relax and recharge. Not to mention the fantastic location where peace and privacy is guaranteed. The rural garden is everywhere you look and in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. The garden is surrounded by three large meadows, so there are many opportunities for keeping such horses, cows or sheep.
And as it should be in an authentic farm garden, you will find not only a lawn but also a walnut tree, various deciduous trees, hedges and hydrangeas. The orchard is worth a special mention: in addition to the decades-old nut tree and fruit trees, a renowned pomologist recently planted various unique apple trees of 'forgotten' apple varieties. If you want even more garden happiness, there is more than enough space to create a self-sufficient vegetable garden.
Are you, like us, enchanted by this beautiful farmhouse which is also situated in a fantastic location surrounded by breathtaking nature?
There where time slows down and you organically follow the rhythm of the seasons.
Spring with fresh new growth. Summer with sultry days and blooming. Autumn with harvest and winter with silence and rest.
Then look no further because you have found your dream home here.
Yes, of course! That's our advice to you so we can make an appointment so you can see and experience with your own eyes this unique opportunity where charm, history and nature go hand in hand.
